grand tourer than midlife crisis with massaging seats. The Continental GT S avoids this trap. It is not nimble. Nimble is a description better suited to hot hatches, Lotuses, and race cars that require a yoga instructor to enter. The Bentley is planted, precise, and deeply assured. It does not flick into corners. It commits to them. It shoulders its way through with grace, traction, and no small amount of nerve. The supporting hardware is no small part of the story: active all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering, an electronic limited- slip differential, torque vectoring, air suspension, twin-valve dampers, and a 48-volt active anti-roll system. On paper,
this reads like a lengthy engineering flex. On the road, it feels integrated and natural. The all-wheel steering helps reduce the sensation of size at lower speeds and adds stability when the pace increases. The active anti-roll system keeps the body impressively flat without turning the ride into punishment. This is the balance the GT S needs to strike: more edge than the standard car, but not so much edge that it cuts into the luxury. Of the two body styles, the coupe is the cleaner performance statement. It feels tighter, more focused, more naturally connected to the S brief. The GTC S makes a more emotional case. Roof down, V8 engaged, countryside rushing past, it becomes less about precision and more about theatre. The larger point is that the plug-in hybrid system has not softened the Continental. Quite the opposite. It has made the car more immediate at low speeds, more flexible in daily use, and no less dramatic when the road opens up. The 2027 Bentley Continental GT S is still heavy, still imposing, still deeply luxurious, and still capable of moving at a shocking rate of speed. Electrification hasn’t erased the old magic. It has given the car another way to express it.
"The Bentley is planted, precise, and deeply assured."
