Hollow Resort in Hurricane, Utah. I arrived at the course before the sun. Similarly to navigating another planet, venturing out in the vast desert of Southwest Utah, especially as a first timer in the dark amid new construction, development and detours, was no easy feat, but I successfully made it to the resort appropriately named for the nearby Sand Hollow State Park. Being greeted by friendly staff, especially that early in the morning, was a fantastic start to what would become an unforgettable day. As the sun began to rise, myself and the other early birds flocked to the driving range to shake off the morning chill that was a combination of Hurricane eclipsing 3,000 feet in elevation as well as it being

A wicked bunker in the middle of the second fairway will make anyone second guess their tee shot, while missing to the left of the green is another lurking nightmare that I unfortunately experienced. By the time we got to the par-3 third, the chill had dissipated as the sun supplanted itself smack dab in our eyesight for our tee shots.
